West Coast Storm, Inc. Storm Water Best Management Practices:
Curb Inlet and Catch Basin Solutions
West Coast Storm, Inc. comprises four generations of experience in the environmental industry, from professional training to hands-on experience in the field. West Coast Storm, Inc. has the knowledge and resources to design and customize any BMP to meet your area's specific requirements. Two of the most popular BMP's West Coast Storm offers, the Storm Drain Flap and Catch Basin Insert provide effective long-term storm water compliance and an affordable solution to waterway pollution and system blockage.
West Coast Storm Drain Flap (Automatic Retractable and Non-Retractable Screens)The West Coast Storm Drain Flap, manufactured from stainless steel, is specifically designed to fit across the opening of any curb inlet. The perforated Drain Flap enables water flow while trapping green waste and debris at the curb. The West Coast Storm Drain Flap operates on automatic retraction dependent upon variable flow rate. The Drain Flap is designed with an automatic locking mechanism that prevents tampering or municipal street sweeping debris from entering into the drain. The locking mechanism remains closed during dry weather and opens automatically during a storm event or heavy nuisance water. Trapping green waste and debris at the curb prevents storm drain overloading ensuring more efficient operation of our storm drain systems. West Coast Storm Catch Basin Insert The West Coast Catch Basin Insert is a multi-layered filtration system that collects water run-off upon entering the catch basin. The device, manufactured from a non-woven polypropylene filtration cloth liner, has been tested and proven to maximize filtration of sludge containing heavy metals and petroleum hydrocarbons. The insert support grating is comprised of a high-density polymer rated at 7,540 or 5,280 lbs. per foot. A support bracket, made of stainless steel, suspends the insert to the interior of the catch basin, therefore eliminating any obstruction to water flow.
The device is mounted to the inside of the catch basin retaining green waste, debris, sediment, heavy metals and petroleum hydrocarbons. The effluent is thereby successfully reduced to non-detectable amounts and the captured contaminants are removed, transported and disposed of in compliance with all applicable EPA, federal, state, county and city regulations. ![]() West Coast Storm Screen: Automatic Retractable Screen (ARS) ![]() West Coast Storm Screen: Automatic Retractable Screen (ARS) ![]() West Coast Storm Drain Screen: Non-Retractable Screen (NRS) ![]() ARS (Close-Up), Residential Run-off Debris Captured without Impeding Flow ![]() West Coast Storm Drain Flap (Close-Up): Automatic Retractable Screen (ARS), Accelerated Water Flow Opens the Flap |
